About Reel Thyme Charters

Reel Thyme Charters is an owner-run fishing charter company based in Hout Bay, Cape Town. The waters off Cape Point offer some of the world’s best tuna fishing, and our charters specialise in catching this target species. We operate from October to June, providing you with the best chances of landing trophy tuna. To make sure our clients have the best experience, we use top-tier Shimano reels paired with custom rods, along with the very latest SIMRAD navigation and fish-finding equipment.

Our Vessel

“Must Byt” – a 42-foot Rodman 1250 Walkaround, powered by twin Yanmar 440hp inboard engines – built for the Cape’s waters. Offering an exceptional ride and a fully equipped onboard toilet, she comfortably accommodates up to 10 guests, making her the ultimate fishing platform.

Skipper Sean Todd

Sean Todd, a Cape Town native, has been fishing since age 5 and holds multiple angling records, including a world record. With expertise in light tackle, offshore, and inshore fishing, he’s also a qualified Dive Master and spearfishing guide, ensuring unforgettable charters.
